Students Honored at Annual College Academic Day
Twenty-one students, each representing a campus of the ConnSCU system, were honored during the Annual College Academic Day celebration at the State Capitol.
Each year on College Academic Day, state lawmakers honor outstanding students from each of Connecticut’s public and private universities. “I’ve been continually impressed by the caliber of the students on each and every ConnSCU campus,” said Robert A. Kennedy, President of the Board of Regents for Higher Education, which governs the ConnSCU campuses. “I believe they are among the best and brightest in the state, and it’s wonderful to have them recognized with their peers as such. I congratulate our schools’ winners, and wish them the very best.”
The students received an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly, were formally introduced during session and were honored at a State Capitol reception. Sponsors of the event include State Representatives Richard F. Roy (119th District), Pamela Z. Sawyer (55th District, and Roberta B. Willis (64th District).
"Academic Day Honorees represent the best and the brightest in all of Connecticut’s colleges and Universities. Each year we take the time to shine a light on the message that student honorees of Academic Day will be Connecticut’s future leaders." Rep. Roy said.
